Welcome to Learning for Life Tutoring
an educational learning support service based in Canterbury, in Sydney’s inner west. We offer individualised, evidence-based intervention programs to assist students, primarily from Kindergarten to Year 6, who present with unique learning needs. Led by Janelle Ryan, a SPELD NSW tutor with over 30 years of teaching experience, we realise that there is no “one size fits all” in education – our lessons are designed to specifically cater to your child’s learning profile.
Learning differences such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, 2e (twice exceptional) and giftedness are all understood and accommodated at Learning for Life Tutoring. Students are assessed and lessons are designed to meet their specific academic, behavioural and emotional needs in the areas of literacy and/or numeracy. We offer support and advice for the family as well as providing a nurturing environment for children to grow in confidence and skills.
"Learning how to learn is life's most important skill."
~ Tony Buzan
At Learning for Life Tutoring, students participate in one-on-one or small group lessons of 30 minutes, 45 minutes or one hour duration. Students may participate in person or via online platforms such as Zoom, avoiding time and distance constraints and allowing for learning to continue during changing circumstances.
Activities are multisensory and varied to accommodate neurodiversity and to maintain interest, with focused direct instruction complemented by educational games, puzzles and problem-solving challenges. We want learning activities to build skills and confidence, and also to be fun!
